Flaming prototype was tested in the vineyard during Spring–Summer 2018, and compared with tillage (disc cultivator, weeder blade, and finger blade) and mowing (in-row, vine-skipping mower).

The experimental area included 12 test rows (i.e., three main treatments × 4 replicates) and 13 border rows, i.e., one on each side of the area, three between the blocks, and one on each side of the Tillage rows.
Under-row tillage (disc cultivator 1 times; blade weeder 3 times; finger weeder 1 time). Under-row mowing 3 times.
